Botanical Garden Collections Planning
.

At the Nevin Welcome Center, visitors find a place to begin their exploration of Cornell Plantations and to return for exhibits, classes, and demonstrations.
The Welcome Center and its landscape completed the work envisioned in the 2002 Master Plan, enriching the visitor experience; giving the Botanical Garden’s historic structures and collections new prominence; and consolidating a central car-free space where future collections can grow. A new bioswale greets visitors as they arrive and demonstrates the role of plants in treating stormwater runoff.
.

The magazine Canadian Architect gave the Welcome Center its 2010 Award of Excellence. More information is about the Welcome Center and bioswale is available at the Cornell Plantations website and in GreenSource Magazine.
